Date Night

My parents came to town yesterday afternoon - yeah! They were flying out of Tulsa to Denver, renting a Harley, and riding through Colorado...how awesome is that? My mom just called from Estes Park and said it was absolutely gorgeous.
Anyway, last night we had dinner and then Jeff and I went to the movies for the first time in more than a year! We saw The Ugly Truth - it was pretty good - it was a chick flick, but Jeff still liked it. I wish we could do that (date night) every week or at least every month. I wish we had family closer - I should so not be complaining 'cause we ARE closer to family now - Ft Worth was 6+ hours!!! So while we were at the movies, mom and dad took the girls to the park where Lindsey swang and swang and swang. Lindsey is into copying or having people copy her movements, so she had fun playing copycat with nana and papa. Lindsey would rest her hand on her chin and wait until they did...then she'd put her thumb on her forehead and wait 'til they did it, etc.
Today we went to the zoo in the morning and when we got home, Jeff put the girls down for their naps and I went shopping!!!!! TJMaxx has got to be my favorite place...everything looked good! I bought a new comforter for our room - it's brown and aqua/teal - Jeff's got to like it before we can keep it. :) If not, I saw another one there too. :)
Jeff's parents and Eliegh are coming to town tomorrow and going to spend the night. Maybe we'll go to the neighborhood pool or go fishing.
Ok, it's after 4 and both girls are still napping - they always nap longer when Jeff's puts them down.
Mack and I are almost finished nursing. I only have enough milk for one feeding per day...maybe not even that now. My boobs are already deflating...:)

These are the days

You know that 10,000 maniacs song? I have it in my head and it totally sums up today.
The girls and I had a great day...played in the sandbox, ran errands, the weather was great, everyone had a good nap...
So I don't know if I've mentioned it, but Mackenzie growls when she eats. She'll take a bite and then growls like a grizzly bear or a puppy chewing on a toy. It's the cutest thing and Lindsey thinks it's funny too.
Lindsey is still doing puzzles like crazy. And Jeff has been building Jenga blocks with her for months so now she can build these big towers or "houses" all by herself. Of course her favorite thing to do is knock down the blocks...
When Jeff got home he suggested that we walk down to the neighborhood pond with the fishing poles. What a GREAT idea! Lindsey caught her first FISH!!!! She was so excited!! She actually caught two tonight...I only had my cell phone camera with me, so I'll have to get the pic off of my phone. The weather was nice and cool tonight - I wish it was like this every night.
I'm so thankful for the nice day we had today and I need to remember days like this when things get stressful and frustrating.

VACA

So, Jeff had this week off and we decided to go to Branson for a couple days. Jeff's nephew, Eliegh, came with us too - he's 11. The weather in Branson was beautiful! The condo we got was in a golf course community and only a couple minutes walk to the club house where there were tennis courts and 2 pools - one for the babies and one for big kids. Both girls loved it...and Eliegh made friends right away. Eleigh and I played tennis a couple times and Lindsey came with us once and seemed to understand that one must use the raquet to hit the ball - I've got to get her a little raquet.
We took the kids to White Water - great for Eliegh, but Lindsey and Mackenzie seemed a little overwhelmed. They're still too young to really enjoy amusement/water parks.
We were only gone for 48 hours, but that was enough and we had a good time. Eliegh was ready to get back so he could get on facebook and play video games...I have to admit I was ready to get on the Internet too. :)
Jeff's taking Eliegh back right now and the girls are napping. I've been working on MOMS club stuff and laundry, of course. :) Here's a couple pics from our trip...

Nana and Grandma's visit

My mom and grandma came over for a couple days this week. Lindsey was beside herself. She has only met my grandma a couple other times, but she took right to her, which made my grandma feel really good. Grandma and I took Lindsey to the fire station and then on to putt & jump. Then, the next day, grandma came along to Lindsey's playgroup and then we ended up at Chick-fil-A, Lindsey's fave! Mackenzie enjoyed nana and grandma's company too.

Lindsey and grandma doing a puzzle - i think they did that puzzle at least 10 times in one day!

4th pics

We had a great 4th of July - with family, friends, food, fireworks, fishing, and boating. My brother, Matt, took Jeff, dad, and I out to the lake to go skiing - that was the first time I had skied since having both girls. I did alright - wiped out once. :) Jeff enjoyed fishing with all the kids at the pond behind my parent's house.

The girls and I sitting on the neighbor's lawn watching the fireworks - both were a little scared at first, but ended up enjoying the evening.

My parents, Jeff, the girls, and I at my parent's neighborhood pool.

All is quiet

The girls are both napping...YEAH! I finally got Mackenzie's 6-month pictures scanned. Ok, see, I don't know how to arrange these photos...
We've been to Arkansas the past two weekends - once for the 4th and the other for a family reunion. Lindsey had a ton of fun with her nana and papa and all her cousins.
Jeff is taking the week off next week - yeah - and we're going to go to branson for a couple days. jeff's nephew, eliegh, is going to come with us too. he's 10 and enjoys playing with the girls. he's a redhead too...next week i'll really be outnumbered.
my mom and grandma are coming to town tomorrow and then my mom will be back on saturday with a friend because they're flying out of tulsa to spend a week in mexico - i wanna go too!!! maybe i'll hide in her suitcase. :)

Bath Time

well it's 3 o'clock in the morning...

All I can think about is Three Men and a Little Baby...when all the guys are singing to the little girl at 3 o'clock in the morning...love that movie. I don't love that Mackenzie has been up since 1:45. I nursed her, changed her diaper and she is still not sleeping. She's been crying for the past 30 minutes. I went in their once and she's still crying. Jeff told me to just go to sleep...easy for him to say! So, I'm wide awake willing my little girl to calm down and go to sleep.
We all had a great day today. Everybody was in a good mood, we got to spend time with some friends and everybody took good naps. Please go to sleep!!! She just keeps on and on...
So let's see...what's been going on....
I've started the membership vice president position in the MOMS club. I'm excited about the position..i wish i knew how we could get more members. i'm gonna post flyers at the library, reasor's, place an ad in the newspaper, etc. I couldn't survive without the club and I bet there are other moms out there who don't even know we exist and could benefit from the club also.
so, i found a jeep online that i really like, but it's in okc. we'll probably go on friday to see about buying it. then on saturday, it's back to arkansas for a family reunion. we're just going for the day 'cause we spent last weekend there and plus, the girls sleep better at home - well, usually....not tonight for mackenzie!!!!!!!!!!!! it's going on 40 minutes now. i feel bad, but i know she's not hungry, not poopy, she's got her paci...she's gonna have to soothe herself.
Now she's wimpering, sucking in air....wailing....I bet if I put her on the boob she would calm right down....maybe I should and then everbody can get back to sleep. I wish she would calm down herself.
Starting in August, Jeff is going to be gone for one week for 4 months in a row for training in Michigan. I don't know what I'm gonna do for a whole week without JEff! Maybe my mom will come over for a few days. He's so awesome with the girls and he does everything I do...except nurse and if he could do that, i'd let him do that too! :) he's such a big kid and is really good at playing with the girls. i'm so thankful.
Mackenzie is pulling herself up into standing position...have i mentioned that already? i'm like, you are too young to be doing that!!! she'll be 7 months in 2 days. still crying....45 minutes...give it up girlfriend!!!!!!!!!
1 hour now - wait...i'm straining to hear anything...has she finally conked out? Praise the Lord! That's the longest she's ever cried...but now it's over and hopefully she'll sleep a good 4 hours at least.
Ok, I'm gonna try to get some sleep now. :)

my girls

today, lindsey did a 25-piece puzzle all by herself! we've been doing the puzzle for weeks, but tonight was the first time she did it all by herself.
and, mackenzie stood up holding on to the play table...with one hand. i swear, she's gonna be walking by 8 months...she's not even 7 months!!!
i had to jot down these two milestones.
