The Perfect Day

Today was awesome...nothing spectacular happened, but the whole day had a nice vibe. Lindsey went to MDO and had a great time as always. Her teachers said she's talking more and more...coming out of her shell. Both girls slept in the afternoon and then we went to the park when they woke up. The weather was absolutely beautiful. I talked to Jeff about selling the pool table so we could use the loft as a playroom. He suggested that we keep the pool table, but just break it down and store it. I showed him a playroom that I found on rate my space that had some cool paint colors - Jeff is always up for home improvement projects. I've found some bedding for both girls...I want their room to be pretty and girly and we can move all the safari stuff into the playroom. Everybody is sleeping now and hopefully I will be soon.

Yesterday was one for the books...

The day started off pretty well. We went to the Monday playgroup and Lindsey seemed to enjoy herself..screaming, eating everyone's snacks, jumping, etc. After lunch though, I was in the bathroom and Lindsey had gone into her bedroom and shut the door. She was being very quiet which should have been my first clue. I opened the door and she had reached up on her changing table and gotten the sanitizer and powder. Needless to say, there was sanitizer and powder all over her and the floor. Lindsey looked at me with the biggest smile, like, "Look what I did." The lotion was in her reach too and thank goodness I got in there before she dumped that too. So, she went down for her nap with powder stuck all over her legs thanks to all the sanitizer she had rubbed on them. :) I acted like I was mad at her so hopefully she won't do that again, but I was chuckling inside...she's a little stinker.
Then, that afternoon we were playing outside and I had left my cell phone on the patio table. I went out to get it and Lindsey shut the patio door behind me and the door locked!!!!! I tried to get her to open the door for a few minutes - she kept saying "hi mommy, hi mommy through the door...." Anyway, all the doors to the house were locked and I called Jeff to come home. I tried some more to get Lindsey to open the door...I kept jiggling the door saying, "open the door." Well, it finally worked. She opened the door right as Jeff came home. I was panicking for about 15 minutes 'cause Mackenzie was in the house - crying - I had just started to feed her some rice cereal and she probably thought I had forgotten that she was hungry.
What a day! Jeff stayed with the girls for an hour or so to let me go to the Y so I could work off all my stress and the whole box of Crunch-N-Munch that I'd eaten that afternoon. :)
Mackenzie is still teething and is kind of fussy. She only napped for 1 hour and then woke up every three hours last night. I'm so glad that I joined the Y, so I can get in shape and keep up with these girls. :)

Yeah - it's the weekend

Wow!
What a week.
Nana Fulton was here from Sun-Tues which was so nice. Lindsey loves playing with her Nana.
I got a migraine right when my mom left on Tuesday night and then Wed and Thurs I wasn't in the greatest mood and would not win any awards for best mom of the year. :(
However, Friday was better. Lindsey and I went to Bounce U where there are a bunch of bounce houses and slides...she was lovin' it.
Saturday was nice too....we went to the park, had lunch with some friends (the Donnelly's)...everybody got a nap. ;)
Lindsey has figured out that my name is Amy and calls me such sometimes...little stinker.
Mack is getting 2 teeth...she's been sticking her tongue out feeling those chompers coming in...her dimples are so cute!
Daddy is finishing up the cornices for living/dining room. Daddy will also be refinishing a crib that I bought the other day for Mack.
Okay, I still need to post the Easter pics. :)

Weekend

Lindsey and Mackenzie are both down for their naps. :)
Lindsey is doing well and learning how to sing more and more songs and has memorized some of her books.
Yesterday, we got the jumperoo and exersaucer down for Mackenzie and she just loves both toys.
Daddy went to play golf today and the girls and I went over to Amy Hoy's house...she has two girls just a couple months older than Lindsey and Mack. Daddy was golfing with Amy's hubby.
I need to post about Easter and post all the cute pics too.
Daddy says that there is a lot of weeding to be done outside so that's what I'm gonna go do now.

Easter was nice. We went to my parent's house. Jeff helped dad put mulch down and I helped mom get all the Easter food ready...she made so much yummy food! We had a little egg hunt around mom and dad's house and Nick, Haley, and Emily came over too. Emily and Lindsey got a head start since they're the littlest. We ate a ton of food and then the kids starting pummeling Jeff with the balloons they got in their Easter baskets. :) We also met Todd and Nicole the night before for about an hour. It was good to see them and visit for a while...we miss hanging out with them. Ok, here are some pics from Easter....

Weekend

We had a nice weekend.
The girls and I went to the gym, well, both gyms, on Friday. Lindsey got to play at the gymnasium and then I went to the Y while the girls went to child watch. Lindsey did pretty well and Mackenzie slept the whole time.
On Saturday, Jeff took Lindsey to see Elmo Live! Lindsey liked the show, but got tired a few minutes before the show ended, so they just came home. Later in the day, Lindsey and I went to the pool at the Y. Lindsey didn't want to go down the slide, but we had fun just splashing around.
Sunday was cold and blustery!!! Jeff completed one of the cornices for the living room. It looks really nice.
Both girls went down for bedtime really easily. We're crossing our fingers that Mack will sleep well. We gave her some rice cereal today.

Teething?

Mackenzie is constantly chewing on her hands and fists and will not sleep without Jeff or me. The minute she is laid down in her pack-n-play, she wakes up and gets super mad. I should try to give her some Tylenol...she is just miserable...and making me crazy!!!!!! She's a great baby, but her teeth must really be bothering her.

randomness

Oh Mackenzie!!!! You fell asleep on your own this afternoon only to wake up 1/2 hour later!!!! Mommy put you in your swing - you're not a sleeper just like your sister wasn't a sleeper until 5 months. I guess that means only another month to go and hopefully then you'll be sleeping through the night. You don't seem terribly tired or cranky - you just want to be up, but mommy is trying to get you into a routine where you take a couple naps during the day and sleep all night.
Today we joined the YMCA. We put cousin Eliegh's name on our membership so he can go when he comes to visit.
We also went to Elite gym to see about a 2-year-old class for Lindsey. Lindsey is not used to a structured class so she wanted to run around most of the time. The other kids were doing that too, but they're a little older and mommy doesn't think Lindsey's ready for a class yet. We'll just continue going to open gym.
Lindsey now likes to make laps around the couch and yell out everything she sees - "baby", "giraffe", "shoes", "kitty", etc. :)
Ok, better go...seems like Mackenzie is hungry...it's been 3 whole hours.
